Anyone moving a house, building or structure through, over, upon or across a street, avenue, alley or public way in Kalispell. The city requires a permit from the Building Inspector first, and security accompanies the application, conditioned that the applicant pay the City for all damage to its streets, alleys and other public thoroughfares and to its trees, shrubbery, parking and other public property, and hold the City and its officers harmless. A contractor in the business of moving houses may instead file a standing bond with the City Clerk covering all of its moves. Note that this is Kalispell’s only contractor-facing bond of this kind — the city does not bond contractor licensure.
