It is unlawful to construct, drill, alter, abandon, decommission or rehabilitate a water well or monitoring well in the state without the license, and the security must be in place before you commence operations. A person licensed in more than one category supplies only one. Landowners drilling on their own farm, ranch, agricultural or residential property under a board permit are exempt from licensure, as are apprentices working under the personal supervision of a licensed contractor or driller. A state or federal employee already bonded by the government supplies none during that employment.
