Las Vegas offers a special bond for one particular job, in a sum the city engineer sets, or a general bond kept on file that covers all of your work — and it also lets you put up money instead of a bond. The security guarantees you complete the work, restore the surface, and keep it in condition for six months afterward.

Executed to the City of Las Vegas and approved by the City Engineer before you change the surface of a public street, alley or highway under an excavation permit. Las Vegas accepts a deposit of money in place of the bond, so the bond is listed and the exact amount is confirmed when you apply — the city engineer designates the sum for a special bond covering one job, and the City also publishes a fixed sum for the general (blanket) bond that covers all of your work.
