Bond amount
$10,000 or the estimated cost of work within the right-of-way, whichever is greater (commercial, residential, and utility projects). For restoration/repair of curb, drive apron, and curb ONLY (not part of a larger project), a flat $10,000 annual bond is required for contractors.

Filing
Filed with the City of Akron Engineering Bureau before a right-of-way permit is granted, as a surety and/or maintenance bond covering commercial, residential, and utility work in the right-of-way. The warranty period runs two years from the City’s final acceptance (curb- and apron-only contractors post an annual bond), and if a defect is not remedied within 30 days of notice the City may pursue the surety. Required under the Akron ROW Regulations §2.4.1 (ref. Akron Codified Ordinances §98.216).
